We talk app development by nurses to improve patient outcomes and communication in this episode of Notes on Nursing Live. I interview nurse and innovative app developer Rebecca Koszalinski, PhD, RN, CRRN, CMSRN. Rebecca is an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Nursing and inventor of the Speak for Myself® app.

The app helps patients with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses who are speech vulnerable communicate their feelings of pain, fear, anxiety, and more, and makes it easier for them to make requests regarding physical needs. In this episode, we chat about her unique story, learn more about what inspired her to enter the nursing profession, and find out how she developed the Speak for Myself® app.
